ADVANCES IN MODELS FOR LABORATORY TESTING OF INHALERS: THERE’S MORE TO IT THAN MEETS THE NOSE OR MOUTH – THE ADAM FACE MODELS
Anatomical representation of a patient face is necessary so that the interface between facemask and aerosol measurement apparatus can be realized. Here we discuss the ADAM face models and the changes it has gone through in an attempt to better mimic aerosol delivery in the in vitro setting.

DEVELOPING PATIENT-FRIENDLY DEVICES FOR INHALATION THERAPY
By incorporating simple but effective features, it should be possible for the inhaler industry to move significantly towards responding to clinician requests for inhaler products that encourage and maintain improved inhalation technique and compliance.

EUROPEAN PHARMACEUTICAL AEROSOL GROUP: SURVEY ON DRY POWDER INHALER AIR FLOW TESTING
The European Pharmaceutical Aerosol Group conducted a survey of member companies in 2010 to arrive at a ‘current’ view of how industry determines useable in vitro air flow rates and volumes during development and quality control testing, identify gaps in in vitro testing knowledge as well as informing stakeholders about how inhaler development takes place, based on patient and product air flow and air volume parameters. This paper summarizes those results.
Poster #4
SUMMARY OF EUROPEAN PHARMACEUTICAL AEROSOL GROUP: ABBREVIATED IMPACTOR MEASUREMENT (AIM) WORKSHOP – DECEMBER 2010
This poster provides a summary of the key matters relating to the implementation of AIM-based measurement equipment for oral inhaled products.
