Did You Know?
For people with asthma, greenhouse gas emissions are 3x higher when their asthma is uncontrolled.1
For people who need to be hospitalized with a respiratory exacerbation, the carbon footprint of one overnight stay in the hospital is 125,000g CO2E.2
That’s nearly 48x higher than the average daily car trip.3
That's why we put the patient first, always.
Our mission is to help patients around the world breathe better so they can live fuller lives.
We know there's a direct link between respiratory health and air quality.4,5 That's why we're taking meaningful and measured actions to enable positive patient outcomes that significantly reduce our carbon emissions
Highlights from our sustainability journey so far
Recipients of the Bronze EcoVadis Medal (2025)
for sustainability management systems
Patients and Community Partners
- Devices available to patients in over 110 countries worldwide.6
- +100,000 subscribers receive education and support through the myAero community.6
- $28,866 CAD in employee-led, company-matched donations raised by TMI gives in 2024, and granted to local organizations who share our community ethos.6
Product Development and Validation
- 100% of new products complete a Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) to inform sustainable design decisions, including process emissions, resource consumption, and material choices.6
- +150 peer-reviewed articles and publications backing product safety and efficacy.6
Manufacturing and Operations
- 0 water used during our manufacturing process.6
- 92% of electricity used in our manufacturing process comes from clean energy sources, thanks to Ontario’s predominantly renewable and low-carbon power grid.10
- Operating a Quality Management System certified to ISO13485:20166
Products
- Using an AeroChamber* Brand Spacer has been shown to increase mean lung deposition by approximately 2x compared to use of the MDI alone, since it helps overcome challenges with inhaler technique.3 By reducing the number of puffs, side effects and emergency visits, the spacer positively impacts both the patient, environment and healthcare system.11
- The Aerobika* OPEP Device is clinically-proven to reduce COPD flare-ups by 28% within 30 days of use and significantly reduce the use of oral corticosteroids and antibiotics.8
- The AeroEclipse* II BAN* Nebulizer has been shown to significantly reduce hospital admissions and emergency department bed hours for asthma and COPD exacerbations. This leads to substantial cost savings and improved operational efficiency for hospitals and health systems.9
Our Sustainability Strategy
As part of the Trudell Medical Group of companies, our business objectives are aligned to the principles of sustainability under a multi-year strategy: Shaping a Sustainable Tomorrow.
This enterprise approach outlines our material priorities – environmental, social, and governance – and our roadmap to achieve them.
