As a strategic business partner to the VP/GM and the leadership team, attract, retain, and build a strategic talent pipeline to position the Company for sustainable business growth. Drive employee vitality equipped with a “founder’s mentality” to live out the organizational mission of helping people breathe better and live fuller lives.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

TALENT STRATEGY AND PLANNING

  • Drive development and deployment of strategic talent planning models to identify functional and cultural competencies and talent gaps and create specific programs for development of talent capability as needed
  • Maximize the team’s potential by proactively assessing team and employee development needs, making recommendations, and implementing appropriate solutions
  • Develop “world class” talent experience for the Company by being actively involved in attracting strong external talent and being a marketer for TMI’s nobler mission
  • Ensure support of short- and long-term business growth by talent that is upgraded and upskilled through talent review and succession planning processes
  • Implement key talent programs to create talent pipeline for internships and coop opportunities with key universities and colleges

CULTURE, TEAM HEALTH AND VITALITY

  • Contribute to and own a “founder’s mentality” culture and create the context with people leaders so that all employees can thrive
  • Accelerate new employee assimilation and new leader assimilation so that the context is set for employee success through effective onboarding and appropriate training programs
  • Maintain open communication with all levels of the organization and be an employee advocate so that talent capability is effectively utilized
  • Roll out engagement surveys across TMI and ensure appropriate action plans are carried out so that employee engagement is consistently improved, and the Company continues to be an employer of choice

PERFORMANCE AND REWARDS

  • Attract and retains talent across functions by ensuring that total compensation, including salaries, are fair and competitive
  • Establish easy-to-implement employee recognition programs that support people leaders in achieving well motivated teams
  • Ensure that the performance management cycle and employee engagement surveys are managed through the year

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

  • Drive what is needed in the global HR function and ensure appropriate prioritization for HR team members to execute on priorities so that there is organizational alignment with business goals
  • Drive timely and impactful business decisions by owning and tracking meaningful HR metrics and providing rigorous data analysis
  • Drive operational efficiencies and a culture of ownership and accountability within the HR function

PROACTIVE RISK MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws, workplace health and safety laws, etc., i.e. by supporting the development of policies and procedures that keep the workplace safe, engaged, and effective
  • Create a safe and healthy workplace by providing leadership to the Company’s health and safety programs, and by ensuring the appointment of competent supervision, the provision of resources and training, and the adherence to health and safety rules
  • Help ensure the safety and efficacy of devices by providing leadership to the Company’s QMS training processes, and by supporting the adherence to the QMS
  • Ensure that HR best practices are developed and maintained in conjunction with applicable global employment and privacy laws, and TMG policies
  • Ensure effective adherence across the business by articulating the “why” behind changes to policies and best practices, to relevant stakeholders

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree with emphasis in Human Resources Management
  • CHRP designation, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in human resources
  • Human resources supervisory experience
  • Employee relations experience an asset
  • Experience with project management, change management, and driving programs independently
  • Analytical and data management experience with experience translating data into action planning
  • Interpersonal and communication experience and experience building relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Professional demeanour
  • Familiarity with legislation governing the Company in each of our jurisdictions
  • Leadership ability
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to persuade, motivate, coach and manage conflicts
  • Ability to maintain, in strictest confidence, confidential information or opinions
  • Written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to liaise and make meaning of information with all levels
    • Excellent listening and interpretation skills
  • French literacy is an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment including manufacturing, addressing multiple needs and priorities
  • Computer literate with intermediate experience in MS Office applications
  • Demonstrated experience working in a global organization or with global teams is preferred
  • Experience with process automation/Lean Six Sigma is preferred
